Manaslu Circuit, Larke Pass, October 2025.

This is our second time trekking with Visit Himalaya Treks. We did the Upper Mustang trek in 2019, and this time we did the Manaslu circuit. As always, the service has been top-notch since the very beginning. Himal answered our questions in a very timely manner and recommended less-traveled side trips to us. Himal always provides the best information about the area. He knows so much about the different trekking areas of Nepal, and their itineraries are the best.

We had Ramkaji as our trekking guide, and his cousin Dawa as our porter. The Manaslu circuit trek had long trekking days at the beginning, and Ramkaji was able to modify our itinerary to best fit our needs. Instead of doing the 2 days to Namrung and Lho, we did the same distance in 3 days to Garp, Sho, and Shyala.  We were able to acclimatize very well, and we did not encounter many other trekkers in those 3 days. Shyala is the most beautiful village and has the best views of Manaslu, Nadi Chuli, and Himal Chuli. Seeing those mountains light up during sunrise was one of the most unforgettable memories on this trek. Ramkaji is patient, kind, knowledgeable, and ensures our safety and comfort on the whole trek.

Our porter Dawa is positive, strong, and hard-working. On our day to the Larke Pass, it was cold and icy. Ramkaji and Dawa gave their microspikes to us for descent. We watched Dawa descending the icy trail with our heavy duffel bags. Words cannot express how grateful we were and how generous and caring the Nepali people are. We had an excellent time on the Manaslu Circuit, all thanks to Himal, Ramkaji, and Dawa’s support.

I highly recommend Visit Himalaya Treks to everyone. They are professional, flexible, and provide high-quality service. Whether you want to go to popular areas such as Everest or Annapurna, or restricted areas such as Upper Mustang or Manaslu, Visit Himalaya Treks is your go-to travel agency!

Exceptional And Rewarding Trekking Experience In Nepal

We had the chance to do business with Visit Himalaya Treks for our Manaslu hike, as well as organizing before and after in Kathmandu, and we loved our experience. Ngima has been a fantastic guide, attentive to our needs and anxious to stay away from tourist groups so that we can have a unique experience with the locals.

Thanks also to Shirkou, our porter, without whom we could not have lived this magnificent experience. Himal, the owner, is also a lovely person who takes care of all the details. We recommend that everyone do business with them. For our next visit, we will choose this company again without hesitation. Thank you again, we lived a dream trip!!
Namaste ☺️
Trek duration October 13 - 28, 2025.

Kukur Tihar In KTM And Manaslu Circuit Trek

My wife and I worked with Visit Himalaya Treks during our trip to Nepal. The owner, Himal, did a great job helping us plan our itinerary and get us coordinated for our trip, ensuring all of the pieces of the puzzle were in place and clearly communicated prior to us starting our trip.

After landing in Nepal, we spent a fun day touring Kathmandu during Kukur Tihar with our guide, Sujan. We visited the Community Dog Welfare Center to celebrate the (Kukur Tihar) Dog Festival, and then toured Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple to learn more about their history. Sujan was very knowledgeable, spoke great English, and was fun to spend time with. We would highly recommend Sujan if you’re interested in touring Kathmandu.

Our big adventure during the trip was the Manaslu Circuit trek. Our guide, Subba, and our porter, Gom, were the best! The service, support, and guidance that we were provided were exactly what we hoped for. Subba was very knowledgeable, personable, patient, funny, and supportive. He set a great pace, led us to quiet tea houses away from the large crowds, took us on cool side trips to Barpak/Laprak and Serang Gompa, and was very situationally aware of weather and trail conditions.

When we had to turn around due to very bad weather conditions, Subba safely guided us back and helped us replan our itinerary. Our porter, Gom, spoke some English and was also very helpful and fun to be with. We formed a great connection with these two, playing cards in the evening, sharing stories and jokes, and enjoying the trail together. While we weren’t able to complete the circuit, we had an incredible time with them and would highly recommend Visit Himalaya Treks and both Subba and Gom!

Manaslu Circuit Trek

This past March I fulfilled a lifelong dream of trekking in Nepal and visiting with the hardy culture of the Tibetan people living in the high Himalayas.

As a solo traveller I was incredibly grateful to have such a wonderful experience with my cheerful guide, Subba (photographer extraordinaire), and my porter, “Master Sange” (big heart, steady feet). Our personalities blended well together and we found a natural rhythm and speed on our journey.

My trek was mainly on the Manaslu Circuit where we also took a remarkable side trip to Serong Gompa (3100m elevation), a Tibetan monastery accessible only by bridges and many, many stairs. This side trip was perhaps the ultimate highlight as I was able to join in on morning prayers, listen to the powerful sounds of the traditional Tibetan horns, and wander the property with the nuns and monks. The view at the monastery is breathtaking with jaw-dropping views of the Himalayas.

FAQs

We always try to be flexible to design the trip itinerary for our client’s needs. However, if you are not convinced as our suggested itinerary then off-course you are always welcome to customize or change the trip itinerary.

Holiday should never be about making it to the final point quickly. Along your trek, we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation, and food.

→ An average physical fitness should be maintained prior to booking a trek. Any sort of illness or recent medical problems should be mentioned while booking a trip. Most of our itineraries are prepared to give you maximum time to acclimatize and pace-setting on the treks would be done according to your convenience. If you are having regular medication then tell us before the trip started which would be better for us to give you the physical feedback.

Our main concern is your safety. We never compromised on your safety during the Trekking and all our guides are properly trained and well equipped to take care of our client's safety even in remote areas as well.

There would be always back support in case of an emergency situation like severe high-altitude sickness or accident (which is least expected), you will be sent to the nearest hospital, if possible, otherwise rescued by a helicopter and sent you to the hospital as soon as possible. Since you are entirely liable for all the expenses incurred for the use of such emergency services, please make sure that your travel insurance covers both- medical and emergency evacuation costs.

It is not a problem at all because in a mountain most of the tea houses/lodges serve vegetarian food as well and our guide will take care at the time of cooking and on a camping trek, our cook and staffs will care all about the food section.

Most of the lodges in the mountains are basic like a guest house or tea house style. In a few major settlements Lodges are upgraded, where are the possibilities we provide you with the best accommodation! Also, it depends upon the service packages.

Lately, most of the teahouses have electricity supply even with solar panels. So, charging your gadgets is not a problem at all. But charging your battery you should have to pay an additional fee (US$ 1 to 3 approx. per hour.), in order to get your gadgets to be charged.

Now a day’s most of the major village has a cell phone network connection. However, in a remote area where cell phone does not work, and even if there is not any other communication access then we send satellite phone along with our guide so you can easily be in touch with your family.

Yes, either you can store at the same hotel as you stayed or we can store your goods with us safely in our office free of cost.

The luggage must not exceed up to 20 kilograms. A trekking helper (porter) carries the baggage of fewer than 20 kilograms. This bag can be received at the end of each day’s trek and you should carry the rest of the weight as a day bag with all your money and valuables inside it.

This is a difficult thing to gauge. We have seen everything from USD 25 to USD 900 per person for guides and porters. Tipping is not required, but a small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters. The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvement with your guide. However, we recommend you to spend a minimum of 10% of your total trip cost for tipping the entire local staff.
