    A representative from Visit Himalaya Treks with the company’s display board will greet you outside the arrival terminal and transfer you to your Hotel. The trek leader will meet the group for a meeting and provide a detailed briefing on the trek. All the required information regarding the trek would be provided.

    A free day in Kathmandu, for last hour shopping and hiring necessary items and gear for the trek and climb, for interested people can do a half or full-day sightseeing tour around places of interest. As Kathmandu is steeped with Heritage Sites enriched with cultures of both Buddhism and Hindu religions.

    Morning having early breakfast, as per the size of a group either in a car, coach, or comfortably seated bus for an exciting drive to Pokhara. Located Mid-West Nepal around the Gandaki zone, the drive takes you on the main busy highway to Pokhara past nice farm villages and towns facing views of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalaya range, as the drive ends at Pokhara by Phewa Lakeside.

    Early morning after breakfast short transfer to Pokhara airport for a flight to Jomsom, board in a smaller aircraft either Dornier or Twin Otter. The flight takes less than half an hour to land at Jomsom airport, a large town and headquarter of the Mustang district. At Jomsom after getting organized and loading gear on pack animals or carried by strong porters. The walk leads beyond Jomsom town towards the flat plain of Kaligandaki River to Kagbeni, an interesting village of strong Tibetan culture and custom. Overnight in the best available lodge within the village with time for a stroll around and observing the local villages’ traditional farm life with raising livestock.

    After a pleasant overnight at Kagbeni, morning walk to a short climb and then entering Upper Mustang territory. A walk leads to windswept country beneath a huge colorful canyon with towering eroded windblown cliff walls.  Walk follows a river upstream within beautiful landscapes of dry and arid terrain, then reaching farm villages and cultivated lands of Tangbe village and Chhusang village  and then finally ending the day walk at Chele / Tshele for overnight in one of its best homely style lodge or Camp.

    From Chele village morning walk leads on a gradual winding path, and then a short climb above Samar village reaching a high ridge. Facing grand views of surrounding beautiful landscapes with distant snow peaks. From the top downhill to a gorge, heading past prayer Chorten or Stupa painted red, black, yellow and white color. Walk follows to another scenic valley within a place with sparse vegetation of juniper trees. After crossing a stream climb to a ridge above  3,800 m high, down for a short while as uphill continues over another pass and then finally ending the day trek on a downhill to Syangboche (Shyangmochen) for an overnight halt in the best available simple lodge.

    After Syangbochen, the morning starts with a gradual climb past farm fields amidst a wide valley, walk leads below Tama Gung settlements. Trek continues to a long climb towards the head of a valley then reaches high Nyi-La pass above 4020 meters.

    The pass forms the southern boundary of Lo northern territory, from the top, descend for half-hour reaching a junction; where the right route leads directly to Tsarang while the other takes you to Ghami village for an overnight stop. One of the best and the main village of Upper Mustang and Lo areas, overnight in a nice homely type lodge or guest house at Ghami.

    Today’s walk leads to another lovely village at Tsarang, popularly spelled and pronounced as Charang. From Gami head for a slow climb up to a small pass to enter into another wide scenic valley. As morning walk continues on a downhill path towards Ghiling within a large field of barley in the suburb of a village.

    Adventure carried on heading down to blue, grey, and red-colored high eroded cliffs, then reaching a bridge over Gami Khola. From here climb through a long series of interesting Mani prayer walls and spinning wheels, one of the longest around Nepal Himalaya range. 

    Last climb of the day on top 3, 800 m ridge, and then descent towards Charang for an overnight halt in one of its nice cozy lodges or Camp. An interesting village with a maze of fields, willow trees, and a huge five-storied white Dzong, where Red Gompa/monastery is situated at the edge of Kali Gandaki River gorge.

    Morning walk leads to one of the main highlights of the adventure at Lo-Manthang, an ancient kingdom of Lo or Upper Mustang.  From Charang, after less than an hour walk leads to cross a bridge then reaching Marang village. As route leads to climbing up on a high ridge past Chorten and prayers stone walls that separate Charang and Lo-Manthang areas.

    A final climb leads to Lo-La pass at 3,950 m high facing grand scenery of snow peaks range and dramatic landscapes. The view includes of Lo-Manthang in the near distance, as the route head downhill to cross a small stream then enter the former walled kingdom of Lo-Manthang for two overnight stops in one of its many nice lodges and guest houses or Camp.

    A full day at Lo-Manthang for rest and acclimatization and to explore the medieval era town, lined with stone-paved streets. Houses are built of Tibetan style closely knitted to each other, with many shops and restaurants.

    An interesting place to experience and to explore its important sites of great historical and religious wonders. At Lo Manthang visit the famous Namgyal Gompa, Champa Lakhang (God House), Red Thubchen Gompa and Chyodi Gompa visit to the fort palace requires special permission.  For the rest of the day relax and enjoy observing the local natives with their daily activities.

    Next morning on the road towards our main goal within far and remote hidden pockets of Upper Mustang. Where only a few adventurous have dared to venture around isolated corners of Far Western Himalayas. 

    After breakfast walk on the same route for a couple of hours on a pleasant path, heading eastward direction making a steep descends and leads to the tiny village of Dhi situated on the bank of the Phuyung Khola. From Dhi village, start the morning walk to cross a small wooden bridge over Phuyung Khola / stream. The climb leads a steep slope to reach the small village of Yara where the Buddhist player flags greet you, explore the incredible erosion landscape of Yara village stay over nighta at Tea house / Camp.

    A few hours of walk from Yara village brings to a small settlement of Luri Gompa afternoon with time to visit and explore the Luri Gompa and caves of the Gompas. Luri Gompa (Monastery) is located high above windblown eroded landscapes. One of the last cave monasteries in Lo and Tibet, Luri Gompa linked with the Kagyu sect of Buddhism. The holy cave and monastery of the 13th to 14th Century, overnight camp near the village crop field.

    After an exciting time at Luri Gompa and the village, a walk leads to wide-open terrain, heading past Yak herder's temporary shelter of stone huts. The route climbs to Gangra at 3,870 m, and then over a high ridge. From here onward beyond villages and human settlements for more than a week till Phu village is reached after the climb of Saribung peak and crossing a pass. The adventure continues down to Ghuma-Thanti for overnight camp after long hours of walk.

    The area with few huts and shelters for pilgrims visiting holy Damodar Kund (pond). Overnight camp on a nice meadow field with views of surrounding snow-high peaks.

    Morning on leaving the Camp of Ghuma Thanti walks leading towards a wide exposed dry and cold wildest region of Upper Mustang. Where landscapes change dramatically for high snow peaks, glaciers, and moraines to reach Namta Khola after crossing high Kyamu-La pass at 5,300 m with downhill to Bacha Khola and Namta Khola for overnight camping.

    From Namta Khola and Batsyak stream, heading towards the holy pond of Damodar Kund. A long day trek of more than 6 to 7 hours, the morning starts with a climb to Batsyak-La Pass at 5,490 m high facing views of Bhirkuti and Damodar Himal with Saribung peak. On reaching the top a long descent to Damodar Kund for overnight camping, enjoy the peaceful environment within the holiest of all holy ponds of Damodar.

    An exciting day walk after a pleasant overnight at Damodar Kund Lake (pond), our route heads further North-East within the complete mountain wilderness of rocky and snow peaks with glaciers. The walk leads past Bhrikuti Himal base camp then reaches around rocky moraine and glaciers where our overnight camp is set near a nice field close to Khumjungar glacier.

    The adventure starts with a steep morning climb towards Saribung base camp situated at 6,042 m high close to its pass. A steep strenuous climb as altitude gains rapidly but rewards with stunning scenery of surrounding towering peaks. After a few hours of tough climb on the icy trail, and then reaching on top of Saribung-La pass 6042 meters which is close to base camp, where our tents are pitched on available level ground on rocks and boulders. Relax and marvel at the grand views of dramatic landscapes of the high snow peak range.

    A full day rest day for acclimatization as well for some practice exercise and checking climbing equipment. Rest of the day our guide will scout the route for a safe and successful climb to the summit of Saribung peak. The guide will fix ropes and make ledges where necessary for the next early morning climb.

    The Saribung peak climbing grade is PD, which means ‘Per Difficule’ for the alpine-style climb as per French and Swiss climbing classification. A straightforward ascent with some technical sections to tackle, starting early before dawn following the lead guide over rocks, ice, and moraine. A steep climb takes you over snowy and icy ridges then finally reaching on top of Saribung Peak summit at 6,328 m high.

    Enjoy the grand panorama of surrounding peaks as far towards Dhaulagiri Himal with peaks of Nar-Phu areas. After a victorious moment on top Saribung Peak summit heads down to base slowly and with care. Rest of the day relax and pack up the climbing gear for the onward journey towards Nar-Phu valley.

    A spare day is a contingency in case of unfavorable bad weather situations, which might happen, as Himalayan weather are unpredictable sometimes even in the best time of the year. If the spare day is not necessary our guide and leader will make the walk beyond Phu onwards shorter having an enjoyable time.

    Depart from the base camp leaving nothing, but only your footsteps walk towards Saribung-La pass, following an icy path up and then down to a narrow gorge to reach the eastern side of Saribung-La. The walk continues as well tracking the right trail, and then end the tough day on reaching the camp close to the bottom of Saribung-La Pass.

    From here onwards within Phu areas of the Upper Manang district, morning walk leads on a gradual winding path and then down with short uphill towards Pokarkang base camp. After a brief stop for pack lunch and continue to walk on rocks and boulders of scree following Layju Khola then established the camp near a summer grazing area at a place called Nagoru.

    A beautiful morning to start the day heading back to human civilization at Phu village, after being in complete wilderness. The walk leads downhill on the hidden trails of Phu and Mustang areas, after a few hours of nice and pleasant walk brings at Phu Gaon for an overnight stop.

    Enjoy the rest day free from packing at Phu, a perfect day for rest and to explore the windblown villages of strong Tibetan influence. Visit around Phu village with more than 30 houses for 100 to 150 local people. An interesting place to enjoy a short walk and to observe the village's traditional farm life and cultures. Visit the old monasteries of Tashilkhang and Samdu Choling with views of Kyauchyu waterfalls.

    After an enjoyable pleasant time at Phu village head downhill as the valley ends into a narrow gorge, following the Phu River downstream to Kyang for an overnight stop either in camp or in a simple lodge. A small Yak herder’s settlement on route to Manang areas.

    Start the morning walk with a gentle descent into a river gorge, then over the bridge, from here onwards trail follows the river downstream. After a few hours of a good walk then end the day reaching Dharmashala for an overnight stop Camp.

    From Dharmasala, the end of Nar-Phu and restricted areas as walk follows downhill to Koto and back into green vegetation and tall trees. An enjoyable walk as the altitude gets lower on reaching Koto a nice village close to the big town of Chame, the headquarter of Manang district. Spend the night in a nice lodge with time for a walk to Chame, the area from here where the popular and famous Annapurna circuit trekking route joins.

    On completing our adventurous walks and climbing at Koto village, where the motor road has reached from Besisar town all the way to Manang village. Visit Himalaya Treks will provide private jeep four-wheelers, an exciting drive on hilly rough tracks heading down to Dharapani village. Journey follows to a long descend on leaving Manang areas at Tal Besi then reaching Syange around low warm farm country of Lamjung district, then reaching at Besisar we will have lunch at Besisahar. After lunch we drive continue follows to join the main highway of Pokhara and Kathmandu at Dumre Bazaar, and then on the smooth winding road following the Trisuli River for a few hours.

    As drive heads uphill towards Kathmandu valley and into the city, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to your hotels, after a great adventure and memorable experience around the Upper Mustang with the climb of Saribung Peak.
